How self-directed learning (SegeLn) works at DSJ.
Katharina Reichert is a DSJ alum now teaching German, German-as-foreign-language and Life Skills at the same school where she was once taught by colleagues like Mrs McLachlan and Mr van Wyk. As coordinator of the orientation stage (grades 5 and 6) she carries forward the SegeLn concept — self-directed learning — that her predecessor Mrs Böckhamt launched in 2021. Outside school she rides horses, gardens, and makes no secret of her affection for Harry Potter.
